Jeanette has always had a love of singing.  She has sung, accompanied, and played for various school and amateur theatrical productions and many music students’ AMEB examinations.

She joined The Melbourne Chorus in 1991 as a tenor and quickly became the Tenor Section Leader.

Jeanette sang tenor in the quartet ‘Jigsaw’ and competed in Perth 1992 with both the Chorus and the quartet.  Over the years, Jeanette sang tenor with ‘Opalessence’; lead with ‘Sound Company’; tenor with ‘Salsa’ and currently sings tenor with ‘Cha-Ching!’.  Her quartets also continue to compete at the regional level.

Being a member of Sweet Adelines gave her the opportunity to build her knowledge by participating in many programs and educational events.  She became Musical Director of the Melbourne Chorus in 2003.

At the 2004 Australian Convention, Jeanette was awarded best Novice Director and Melbourne Chorus won 1st place in the AA division (midsize chorus).  ‘Sound Company’ also won 3rd place in the Quartet Competition.

In 2005, Jeanette directed The Melbourne Chorus when they won the title of Australian Champion Chorus.  This entitled the chorus to compete at the International Sweet Adelines Convention in Las Vegas in 2006, representing the Australian Region.

In 2008, The Melbourne Chorus again became Australian Champions in the National Competition, the winning score earning her the prestigious title of Master Director.

Jeanette is a sought after vocal coach, for both male and female choruses and quartets.

Jeanette has recently further developed her skills by participating with one of Sweet Adeline’s top 10 achieving choruses, Coastline Show Chorus, in Providence, Rhode Island.
