Melbourne Chorus attracts members from as far as 100km away; busy women who come from all walks of life.

During The Melbourne Chorus' vibrant history it has won many awards. Besides performing in our own shows and for corporate, community and private events, we are serious competitors in the Australian region and aim to raise the bar in this barbershop style of singing.

Why not visit us and try this fun and challenging hobby.

When you join the Melbourne Chorus you will become a member of SAI, committed to furthering its aims while enjoying the fun and fellowship of singing and performing barbershop harmony.

The Chorus was first officially chartered on 6th October 1983 under the name 'Yarra Valley Chapter of Sweet Adelines' and on 29th October the Australian flag proudly flew alongside other international flags outside the headquarters of Sweet Adelines Incorporated.

It wasn't until the 1986/87 Sweet Adelines year that the name was changed to 'The Melbourne Chapter of SAI' in order to identify with Melbourne and thus Victoria, as other choruses had formed in W.A., N.S.W. and QLD.

We were the first Sweet Adelines Chorus chartered in Australia.
